After opening defeats at home to Man City and then away at arch rivals Chelsea, many thought new manager Unai Emery might be finding the Premier League a struggle, after taking over after the retirement of Arsene Wenger. Since that opening Arsenal have shown a mix of style and graft in winning 10 consecutive matches in all competitions, something very few anticipated.
After nine matches the Gunners sit level with Chelsea on 21 points, in 4th on goal difference, and only 2 points of the top two. After missing out on Champions League qualification last season Arsenal will be desperate to maintain that place in the top 4, but on this form what else is possible? A tougher run of fixtures might test the Gunners a little more, but Arsenal fans are at least buoyed by the positive start to the season.
