Every time Manchester United go through a tricky period, the rumours resurface about Mauricio Pochettino waiting in the wings to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm of the club. But just as soon as it looks like the obvious move for United to make, Solskjaer’s team find a brilliant run of form and everything at Old Trafford looks rosy again. Completing the Premier League double over rivals Manchester City for the first time since the 2009/10 season, and stretching their unbeaten run to ten games has left Ole looking as secure as he ever has before. United are only 3 points behind Chelsea, and not much further behind Leicester in 3rd, plus they look strong contenders for silverware in the FA Cup and the Europa League. What has looked like a dismal and disappointing season at various points over the last 7 months suddenly looks very different.
