18 year old midfielder Billy Gilmour shone for Chelsea against Liverpool in the FA Cup last week, and the young Scot was impressive again on his Premier League debut against Everton on Sunday. Frank Lampard’s side were too strong for Everton, led by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, running out emphatic 4-0 winners. Remarkably Gilmour is the first Scottish outfield player to start a Premier League game since Steve Clarke in 1998 (before Gilmour was born), and his talent will not have failed to impress Clarke, who is of course now the manager of a Scotland side hoping to qualify for the European Championships in the summer. Chelsea have 4 away games on the bounce now, starting at Aston Villa next week, before Watford come to Stamford Bridge on April 12th.
